Former ‘Access Hollywood’ Stylist Sues Maria Menounos For Defamation

Douglas Silverstein and Lauren Morrison of Kesluk, Silverstein & Jacob filed a suit on August 25, 2011, against Extra host Maria Menounos on behalf of her former stylist, Lindsay Albanese. The complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges causes of action for defamation, tortious interference with prospective economic advantage and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Albanese, who served as Menounos’ stylist from 2005 to 2009, claims she attended a gift suite event in Hollywood in June when Menounos demanded to speak with her and “loudly accused [Albanese] of stealing by claiming, ‘Dolce and Gabbana won’t lend to me anymore because they said you never return anything.'”

Albanese claims that in addition to the loud accusation being a lie, Menounos also told people Albanese had been stealing from her as well. The stylist claims she has lost clients because of the false accusations.

Menounos joined Extra earlier this month after four years on rival Access Hollywood.
